The most popular fire suppression agent used for gas turbines today is carbon dioxide (CO₂). After initial installation, rewind, or upgrate of the Gas Turbine Enclosure, or major modification of the unit or CO₂ system, the CO₂ system functional test should be performed in accordance with NFPA 12 for assessments of reliability of carbon dioxide systems. We use this test to certify the system performance and its ability to meet specifications.
